GoldMine Instructions - Having Stationery Appear Automatically

Please print these instructions then step through the sixteen easy steps

Step 1: Click the WRITE button.

Step 2: You'll see a folder called E-MAIL TEMPLATES.  RIGHT CLICK on this folder.

Step 3: Pull down to NEW.

Step 4: Type a name for your new stationery into the SUBJECT line.  Once that's done, click your cursor into the lower (body) part of the window.  Once your cursor is there, the INSERT FIELD button will be live.  Click it.

Step 5: Pull down to INCLUDE A TEXT FILE.

Step 6: The browser window will probably open to "My Documents."  Regardless of whether it opens to look in My Documents, or anywhere else, what you want to do is to click the downward pointing triangle to the right of the "Look in" feature, and pull down to your C DRIVE (Note: it may be labeled Local Disc C as shown here, or it may be called something slightly different.)

Step 7: From your C DRIVE, double click the folder called PROGRAM FILES, or highlight it and click OPEN.

Step 8: From your PROGRAM FILES folder, double click the folder called STATIONERY CENTRAL, or highlight it and click OPEN.

Step 9: Once you have your stationery folder open, go to the bottom of the browse window where it says FILES OF TYPE and make sure it's set to ALL FILES.

Then highlight the stationery you want in the middle of the browser window (it will be a .TXT file), and click the OPEN button.

Step 10: You'll be returned to the "Edit E-mail" window and will see some computer code in the body section.  In the upper right hand corner, click the lower envelope icon.

Step 11: Click the check box labeled RICH TEXT (HTML) and then click the SAVE TEMPLATE button.

Step 12: You'll now see a folder for your new stationery.  You'll need to RIGHT CLICK on this folder.

Step 13: Pull down to SET AS DEFAULT, slide over to NEW MESSAGE, and click it.

Step 14:  RIGHT CLICK your new stationery folder again, pull down to SET AS DEFAULT, and this time slide over to REPLY, and click it.

Step 15:  RIGHT CLICK your new stationery folder once own more time, pull down to SET AS DEFAULT, and this time slide over to FORWARDING MESSAGES, and click it.

Step 16:  When you go to compose a new message your stationery should now appear.  There is one thing to note with our stationery - you have to click your cursor into the typing area of the stationery.  This will either be beneath the top graphic, or to the left or right of a graphic that is oriented on the side of the design.  This may not be intuitive at first, but once you see how it works it will become second nature.  The graphic below shows a red rectangle - clicking anywhere in this red rectangle will position the cursor in the correct place to begin typing (as shown circled in the upper left hand corner).

USAGE TIP #1: Any time you do not want to use your stationery, click your cursor into the white space to the right of the stationery as shown below, and then press the BACKSPACE key - the stationery will disappear.

That's it.
