ARE THERE ANY GOOD REASONS WHY I WOULDN'T WANT TO EMBED IMAGES TO AVOID IMAGE BLOCKING?

There's a trade-off with embedding images.  The pay-off is the avoidance of image blocking.  This is a significant advantage.  However there are three downsides to embedded images that we're currently aware of.  These are:

  1. Image-blocking may have been turned on by the message recipient as a conscious choice - finding a way to circumvent it might not be considered courteous;

  2. In some cases, especially when receiving email on PDA's, the image may come as an attachment when embedded;

  3. Embedded images make each email larger in terms of kilobytes, requiring more storage space by you (messages in SENT ITEMS will be larger) and by the recipient.
