HOW SIGNATURE-SWITCH WORKS

CONFIGURING SIGNATURE-SWITCH: Signature-Switch utilizes existing signatures that have been created in the conventional way within Outlook.  From within Signature-Switch's settings screen you will use a pull-down menu to select one signature for internal messages and a second signature for external messages, as illustrated by the following graphic.

Signature-Switch's configuration will also prompt you to enter one or more "internal" domains.  In most cases this will be the single domain name that you use for your company's email addresses.  This is illustrated below.

CONFIGURING YOUR OUTLOOK SIGNATURE SETTINGS:  During the installation of Signature-Switch, a signature called PLACE_HOLDER will have been added to the email signatures on your computer.  Once you have completed the simple configuration of Signature-Switch you will need to go into Outlook's Options dialog box and set your signatures to PLACE_HOLDER as shown below.

COMPOSING MESSAGES:  When composing messages (new or replies) you will not see either your internal or external signature.  Rather, you will see the "PLACE_HOLDER" signature which consists of the text [Your signature will automatically be inserted here - DO NOT EDIT ANY OF THIS TEXT].  The following graphic illustrates.

HOW MESSAGES APPEAR TO RECIPIENTS:  Once your message (above) has been composed and you've clicked Outlook's SEND button, Signature-Switch will evaluate the message's recipients.  If all the recipients are internal, your internal signature will be substituted in place of the placeholder text.  If any of the recipients are external, your external signature will be substituted in place of the placeholder text.  The following two graphics provide example of the different results.
